What has really happened to New Zealand women's economic and social status in recent years? ... Despite the many positive changes achieved by feminist analysis and activism over the last fifty or more years, ethnicity, class, marital status, age and other demographic characteristics continue to interact with gender to stratify society. Inequalities have failed to disappear. So it is an appropriate time for a reappraisal from a feminist perspective, focusing on women's economic status and well-being.
