Tutankhamun lived in Egypt almost 3,500 years ago. He was born around 1362 BC and became pharoah when he was about nine years old. This book describes Tutankhamun's life in Egypt and to put his life in context it also shows what was happening elsewhere in the world from around 2,000 to 1000 BC. To help the reader find their way about the book, each chapter has been divided into seven sections. Each section describes a different part of the world, and is headed by a colour bar which indicates which areas are relevant in the text below. There is a time line giving an outline of world events in Tutankhamun's time, and a map which shows some of the most significant places in this book.
